Good Morning! Today's card I am showing you is for the KLSNS Snowflake Challenge as well as the Friday Sketcher Challenge.

This image is a High Hopes image and I got it this last year and I just love it. I have 2 cats and I have on occasion found them in the tree peering out at me. I can't say they've hung on the branch like that but they are a little heavy for that. But lets say we do weight the tree down because of them.

I colored the image with my copic markers and then around the edges I just used a sponge to soften the stark white cardstock. I have gotten so I have been doing this alot and the air compressor works well for this too! I have also used the MS ornament punch and the branch punch on this card.

Sweet 60s Tilda and Snowflakes

Happy Saturday everyone!! WOW... Deb sure gave us lots of yummy goodness yesterday with her sparkling snowflake tutorials, didn't she?! Absolutely beautiful!! Sooo, I sat down last evening to make a challenge card - with SNOWFLAKES, and look what sketch I came across!! Friday Sketchers, with this huge snowflake as the sketch! =)
I don't have a huge snowflake die or anything, so I sized this sketch to 5.25" square and printed it out, then stuck a piece of pink dp behind when cutting it out... Wha-LA! Then I added Dazzling Diamonds to the edges. This is 60's Lollipop Tilda from the Little Yummy for your Tummy collection, and this DP is called Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey (but I'm sure you already knew that as it's sooo popular right now!!) I realize now after taking the picture that I forgot those circles in the corners, so I'm prolly out of luck with entering, LOL - BUT, maybe it'll inspire you to get out those snowflake punches and try our November challenge!! Don't HAVE punches? That's okay! You can use designer paper with snowflakes in it, or how about snowflake ribbon?! We'd LOVE for you to play along and then enter your card/project using Mr. Linky! Deb's Snowflake Tutorial/November Challenge: SNOWFLAKES

Good morning! TGIF! Today I'm introducing the KLSNS blog challenge for November: SNOWFLAKES!!

You have the entire month of November to make a card or other item with a snowflake and using the MISTER LINKY button, below direct Kelly to your card. You could win a $10 gift certificate and a free surprise stamp of Kelly's choice!

Several weeks ago on my own blog, I shared my version of the Anne Wight snowflakes. In that tutorial, I used sponge daubers and ink pads to create colorful snowflakes. This time I have two different options for you.

The supplies you need to gather are:

snowflake punches or dies
glitter
clear drying glue (I use Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents)
pop-dots
brad/button/sticker/rhinestone for the center
white or patterned paper

The first snowflake option simply uses patterned papers. You can use any size pattern, but I generally keep the size small for more even color changes. For small snowflakes punch 1-2 snowflakes. Here I used some Basic Grey ESKIMO KISSES scraps.

Put a dot of glue on the outer tips of each leg of the snowflake. Then dip directly into the glitter jar. Tap off the excess glitter. The great thing about Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents is that it dries almost instantly. Don't worry about leaving glue in the pot. I haven't found that to be an issue.

Use a pop-dot between snowflake layers and off-set the legs. On these small snowflakes I used a very fine glitter (but I'll be honest and tell you that I like CHUNKY glitter better for the bigger snowflakes). In the very center add some eye-candy. In this case a pink rhinestone added that extra bit of bling.

Here's the finished card. I used different patterned papers for each layer of the snowflake. REMEMBER - NO TWO ARE A LIKE! The image background was watercolored first and then stamped. I re-inked the snowman after stamping and added highlights with my Souffle pen.

Stamps: Stampendous SILENT NIGHT SNOWMAN
Paper: Basic Grey ESKIMO KISSES
Ink: SU! Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzelberry, and Melon Mambo (re-inkers)
Accessories: Deb's Crystal snowflakes, EK Success border punch, glitter pen, aqua pen, glue pen, glitter, and Souffle pen.

The second snowflake is much like the original method. Starting with white paper, punch 2-3 snowflakes of differing sizes out.

In the original method, I used sponge daubers to apply color to the white paper before punching. But if you're coloring with COPIC markers, you might want to use the COPIC airbrush system to make sure the snowflakes match what you're coloring.

Spray two colors on each snowflake.

Once again put a dot of Glossy Accents on the leg of each snowflake. On the larger snowflakes, I will cover each "finger" too. The larger glitter (in this case SU! Chunky glitter) adds a larger surface for the light to bounce off.

Add a pop-dot between each layer. Remember to off-set the legs. And in this case I put a Basic Grey brad in the center, after I punched a hole. It's very easy to rip the snowflakes.

On the larger snowflakes to give even more texture, I also glue a leafy punch layer.

Kelly doesn't have this High Hope's pair, but I bet if you asked her she might be able to order it for you! (wink)

Stamps: High Hopes FOLLOW THE STARS, Denami swirl stamps.
Paper: Basic Grey ESKIMO KISSES
Ink: Memento Black Tuxedo
Accessories: Deb's Crystal snowflakes, Basic Grey brads, SU! chunky glitter, glue pad, Copics (see below for color list), airbrush system, and glitter pens.

You do *not* have to use the tutorial for these snowflakes on your challenge card (but I'd love to see what you come up with!!) However, your card must have snowflakes as the general theme or visible component of your card or altered item.

Snowflake Sweetie!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Hope your week has been going well for you:)
This is my Snowflake Sweetie card!!lol
On my card I did use the 60's Tilda and she is colored with copics. I also used this darling darling Basic Grey dp that was sent to me by Kelly!! Thank you hun, I love love love this dp!!!! Its soooo pretty :) The dp is called Eskimo Kisses and can be found at the KL Stampin N Scrappin store along with some other Darling DP's!!!
I did embossing over her with the swiss dots cb embossing folder. I also used the cuddlebug(cb) snowflake one on the white panel. The borders are punched with a snowflake border punch.

Of course I had to add some ribbon and trim!! The snowflakes are buttons and I love them!!! :) Along the bottom of my card I used some blue pearls :)

Growing Up?! and a WINNER!!

Ooh, I just love sunflowers, and when this sweet Brigitta from the Swiss Pixies collectionbecame available on C.C. Designs wholesale list, I just had to add her to my store! If you notice our home page at http://shop.KLstampinNscrappin.com I chose sunflowers because they are so bright and cheery (now mind you I love roses, daisies and tulips too, but sunflowers I just have a special love for).

I sat down and colored her with my Copics last night, added a few highlights with the Signo white gel pen (I have to find some more of these for our store!!) and then layered the image on some Nook and Pantry BG DP. The stamped sentiment is from InkaDinkaDoo's Kids Quotes collection, which I had hoped to add to the store, but their minimum order requirements are a bit steep at $500, so we are holding off on that one for a while (at least after the new year). *wink* Here is a blurry picture of the stamp, sorry my camera and lighting were not cooperating too much this morning. (out of the mouths of babes but if it were ONLY true!) lol

Make Your Own Happiness

Hello all- I hope that you turned your clocks back last night- or uh, you are late! Tee hee....... Today I pulled out my newest stamp that I got from Kelly. Now, I will tell you that I do not really cook or bake if I don't have to. Even my kids will tell you that.... but please don't ask em, it is a little embarrassing. Lets just say we could not live without the microwave or frozen chicken!

But as you can tell Tilda is quite the little chef, don't you think? I used some basic grey that I had from an old old pack- just love that BG. The little swirl is made with a sizzix swirl and then a couple fall colored buttons.

Lenny's Love Me Nots

What's better... eskimo kisses or dragon kisses? LOL - I don't think I'd want to actually kiss a dragon, but come on, this little dragon, Lenny is sooo cute!! And Eskimo Kisses is the name of this paper by Basic Grey! (Oh, the polka-dot paper behind the winter scene is actually from the Lemonade collection by BG.)

So, have you seen the new High Hopes stamps yet?! Kelly sent me this one called Lenny's Love Me Nots (thanks Kelly!) I decided that I'm going against the flow and NOT coloring him green, heehee! I decided to make this into a winter card and color him pink! I also added Dazzling Diamonds for snow... now it goes with the cute DP! Kelly also just added a bunch of Christmas High Hopes stamps as well and they are super CUTE! You've GOT to go check them out! :)

HAPPY FRIDAY! I live in the mountains west of Colorado Springs, so when I tell you I got 18" of snow this week - I AM NOT KIDDING! :D It's nice to be able to work from home when the snow flies! And the sun came out today!

Kelly is one of the few (maybe only) US webstores carrying the HIGH HOPES stamps! This cute turkey is praying that you decide to go vegan for Thanksgiving! There are also new Basic Grey papers in the webstore! This is the new Basic Grey NOOK AND PANTRY paper. The fruit paper was a perfect pairing with the veggie turkey!

I also used this week's SCS sketch (SCS252). It was a great way to showcase that great Basic Grey paper!

I decided to do simple coloring on Mr Turkey, so I used the Stampin Up Color Coach. In the center of the wheel is a group of matched colors. I did the solid coloring with the light color and then outlined with the darker color. It's a very effective way to do quick "shading. I also decided to dress him up a bit with a glitter pen.

And finally to give him a little more depth, I colored him twice, cut out the main body, and then used pop dots to lift him up. The background was very lightly airbrushed with my COPIC system (I use the canned air right now) and then brushed with Ruby Red.

Hope you all are enjoy'n the week so far! I designed this card with this DARLING 60's Tilda & Cat that Kelly sent me, Thank you hun, I LOVE them both!!! All my stamped images are colored with copics, and then cut out! I used the spellbinder frames for the background that they are on. The sleigh I just love as well and it too is cut out.I also did some sewing and added my bow to the top!

Is it Harvest Time?!

Wow, sorry for the blurriness of the photos. It is drab and dreary here this morning, and I tried to brighten them up a little too much I guess. My card was created as a 5 x 5 to showcase Milton and lots of pretty fall colors around him. Milton's Harvest is a High Hopes stamp that has been selling very well this week. In fact, I am all sold out of him currently but I had plans to create him this morning anyway. Delivery time from HH has been only a 2-3 day wait, so if you still want this cutie for your fall creations, he can be shipped within a week to your home. :)
I am extremely pleased with the prompt service Bethany and the rest of the gang at High Hopes have been giving us at KL Stampin N Scrappin!! Thanks, again, Bethany if you are reading. :)
Milton was colored with my prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol and then the apples were touched with a bit of crystal effects. I didnt' capture that very well in the photo this morning without enough natural lighting. Maybe I should tell Santa I need a photo box for Christmas. lol

Here is the completed card with a couple of tags. The sentiment on the lower part is from the Happy Fall, Y'all SU set. The background DP has different shades of golden browns and oranges from layered leaves, which is from the BasicGrey Indian summer packet.

Tilda Picking...Apples!

Oh my, I am late! I had done this card as soon as Kelly sent me this stamp and what was I thinking? I totally forgot to load it- real life sometimes just gets into my way! So here it is, this is one of the new High Hopes that Kelly has in the store: Clarabelle and Riley.

The paper is from the Basic Grey Indian Summer pack- aren't they nice colors for the fall? I love of course that they added those pinks in there too!

A Fall/Birthday Card

Good morning!! Happy Friday!

You still have a few more days to win some blog candy by creating a card using FALL COLORS!! There are only two entries right now so your odds are excellent! In the meantime, here's my entry. I hope it inspires you. I used Basic Grey's INDIAN SUMMER in rich, yummy maroons, oranges and browns!!

Artistic Outpost is one of my long-time favorite stamp companies. And this month they are celebrating their 2nd birthday with a challenge sketch. The rules were to make a fall or birthday card using an AO set. I used HOME.

The sketch below was flipped 90-degrees. The row of trees I stamped directly on the Basic Grey INDIAN SUMMER paper is the long "paper" piece under the main image. The main image was "rock 'n rolled" using the edged of the ink pad to ink specific areas. After the ink dried, I distressed with Distress Ink and a sponge dauber. I used a Technique Junkies method to distress the image panels - FRAME FRENZY: TORN FRAMES. It adds that great "grunge" feel to the card.

Well I have to say it feels good to be home!!! My trip to Washington went well, and I did get to meet a friend from the stamping world while I was there, we had alota fun, we went to dinner and talked for hours, I didnt want to leave!!!

Well onto my card. I used this darling Jam Tilda, and colored her with the copic markers, and then cut her out. I also used stickles on her ruffles. The background I used a border punch along the bottom, and then the spellbinders for the die cut frame that Tilda sits on. I added my ribbon treatment to finish off my card:)

Okay, so the BasicGrey paper and Magnolias also came, and I had so many new things to play with, I didn't know where to start. I really wanted to dive into the new BasicGrey paper -- Eskimo Kisses, Indian Summer or Nook and Pantry, but I didnt' have much time this morning. You see I stayed up until about 3 a.m. getting envelopes ready to ship out this morning,

and then got back up at 7:30 to get my son around

(should be busy typing right now . . . shhh don't tell on me).

If you were waiting on an order, the shipments all arrived yesterday and they were on their way to you 8 a.m. EST this morning! Wooohooo! So, I had a card kit already to go with this cute Clarabelle and Riley stamp from a swap I had participated in, but I hadn't gotten a chance to make a sample card

like I usually do with the contents before sending it out.

So, here he is all decked out in green and blue (and yellow) with his favorite little calf.

I was so nervous about getting it done in time that I forgot the stars until I had it all together, so a little added distressing (me and the paper) trying to get those puppies only through one layer as they wouldn't push through all 3 layers. In case you are wondering, they aren't brads. I picked up some of the stars and hearts a while back when they were on clearance. They have prongs on the back like the items you would use in a Be-Dazzler (?sp). They work great when you remember them on the first layer. LOL Just pop them through the paper and fold over the prongs and you are set. They stay rather flat then too.

These are all of the Copic colors I used
(need some more shades of blue to add to my Copic collection though).

Flurry of Fun!

I hope you had a great weekend! It was pouring on Saturday, but the sun decided to make an appearance yesterday and it was a gorgeous fall day. Brent and I were out running errands, but had a fun time. For my card, I used the Lily and Milo Congratulations stamp with Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Paper. They're also colored in with Copic markers.

It is only about 2.5 inches tall but a gift card could be attached to the inside with a little sticky. I have a little holiday wish stamped on the inside top so I can use it either way! Or if you were having company and wanted to label the holiday dishes, these little cards could sit in front of the dishes........ oh I am hosting this year and I think that I just might do that!

This one is a holiday gift card holder. I wanted to make something for my niece as I almost always purchase her a card to her favorite store. This will fit into a regular sized envelope making it easy to mail as well without being too bulky.

Christmas Tilda with Lamb

Good morning! I can't believe it's Saturday again...already?!! These weeks are flying right by and Christmas will be here before we know it! Which brings me to my card--I can't believe I didn't start sooner, but this card is only my 2nd Christmas card for this year! Eeeks! LOL!

For this card I used my favorite stamp of all time from KL Stampin' N Scrappin' store, Tilda with Lamb. She was from the Easter Magnolia collection, but she's so versatile, like this baptism card I made for Kelly! But I have to say, I'm really loving her in these Christmas colors. I cuttlebugged the red layer with the Swiss Dots folder, and added lots of Dazzling Diamonds to the snowflakes. I'm anxiously awaiting my new Basic Grey paper called Eskimo Kisses too! Have you seen it yet? Sooo pretty! Kelly also got in some great Basic Grey stamp sets and other papers too, like Indian Summer and Nook and Pantry (goes perfect with the new Little Yummy for Your Tummy stamps!)

I love clean and simple cards (CAS). But I'm AWFUL at them! I do try but they always look so "naked" when I do them. Sue me...I love BLING! When I saw this sketch, I thought I could manage that. Simple strip down the side and an image. But you'll notice that I just had to keep adding. LOL!

Don't you love this High Hope's AMERICAN COWTHIC image (Kelly has them available for pre-ordering)! So iconic. So retro. So funny! Colored simply with Copics. Torn edges that were distressed (I couldn't help myself). Some scraps of paper laying on my table. A button with Scrapper's Floss. Clean and simple right?

Sweet little Underwater Emma

Happy Thursday everyone!! Well I think by the time everyone is reading this, I will be on my way to Washington with my mom! Im helping her do a doll show there, and will be back next week:) Im kinda excited but at the same time will miss my craft room, and Mr.Booters who had to stay home with dad! :( Well enough about me, and now onto my card :)

This set has to be the most cutest, she is my favorite of the cc.designs, and they are all soooo sweet, but I love this set! I used the mesh cuddlebug embossing folder to emboss the water background that I airbrushed with the copics. for the dp I used the Junebug from Basicgrey! I even airbrushed the fish, and the underwater plants :)
